Privacy policy

Neighbors for Windom publishes information about our neighborhood. We collect almost nothing about the people who read it.

What we collect when you read the site

The site sets no cookies for visitors and runs no analytics. It loads no scripts, fonts, or embeds from other companies while you read. Our web server keeps a short-lived access log of which page was requested, when, and whether it succeeded. It does not record visitor IP addresses, browser details, cookies, or the page you came from, and the log is deleted after about a week. If you choose a light or dark theme with the switch in the page footer, your browser remembers that choice on your own device. Nothing is sent to us, and it is not a cookie.

Nothing you type on this site is collected by the site. To reach us, email [email protected]. Email is held by Google, which runs Gmail, and we keep what you send us. Choose what you share accordingly.

If you want updates, you can join our email list with the form on our Stay Connected page. When you submit it, your browser sends your email address directly to Brevo, an email service provider. This site never receives it. We ask for your email address and nothing else. Brevo, not this site, stores the list. You confirm your signup by clicking a link in an email we send. Brevo records that you confirmed and when. After you unsubscribe, Brevo may keep the address on a suppression list so that you are not added again.

To tell people from bots, the form uses a Cloudflare Turnstile check. It loads only when you click into the email field. It sees your IP address and browser details, as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link and our mailing address. We do not track whether you open messages or click links. We never send by copying subscribers on one message.

Legal process

We cannot promise confidentiality against a subpoena, court order, or other legal process. If the information is not collected, it cannot be handed over, which is why we collect so little. We hold the email list and our mailbox only at the providers named above, and those providers could also be compelled to produce what they hold.

Backups

We keep nightly backups of the site's content on our server for 14 days, then they are deleted. Our hosting provider also keeps daily snapshots of the whole server and holds the most recent 7 of them, then deletes older ones.

We do not sell data

We have nothing to sell.
